Traveling up the west coast into Canada for a conference was beautiful –we went by automobile so got to see the country and rest stops!
We were a group of business people – no dogs with us.
We stayed right downtown in British Columbia at The Fairmont Hotel/Vancouver which is gorgeous, and has old world elegance.
It also has two raised dog beds on either side of the concierge desk for two yellow labs. – Bravo Fairmont!
Here’s the tip for your business – not only did the hotel put out raised beds for these dogs which were as elegant as the lobby (Consistency in branding) – they encouraged guests to interact and take the dogs out.
For travelers missing their fur kids this was a treat of course – we took the old boy Beau with our group one morning and got intimate with the grass areas down by the water. Having a dog with us made us enjoy the city in a way dog people understand.
However – the Fairmont went further in a subtle way. When I went into the gift shop to purchase a postcard – there were stuffed yellow lab dogs complete with names of the Fairmont stars to purchase and take home.
We could buy our memory of walking Beau and share it with people back home – along the lines of, “And they had the most fabulous dogs! Look – here’s the one I walked or loved on.”
