Be a communicator

You put on your coat and the dog goes crazy – “We’re going for a ride!” Glee, elation and happiness infuse his body in anticipation.

He doesn’t care where you’re going; he doesn’t need to be told.

Employees and clients aren’t so trusting.

Communication is one of the top traits that employees expect and want from a leader and it’s one of the first things employees complain about.

“I don’t know what’s going on!”

“Things change and no one tells me!”

“When did this happen?”

As I write this it occurs to me that these things could be said by a spouse also!

Here’s the point – are you a good communicator?

Most people would like to think of themselves as good at communication and yet research supports the opposite.

What can you do today?

Become aware that people around you can’t read your mind (what a concept!).

Share your thinking – post new promos and items on a communication board (This is an excellent thing to have in every business and family)

Because when people feel “in the know” they’re happier and so will you be!
